Ice Age: Continental Drift

Yesterday, I went to see the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift with my grandmother and my brother. We really enjoyed the movie and thought it was funny. It is about Manny, a mammoth, Sid, a sloth, and Diego, a saber-toothed cat, who get seperated from Ellie, Manny’s wife, and Peaches, their teenage daughter by the Continental Drift. It is a true theory of how the ancient “supercontinent” Pangea broke into 7 continents, which include Africa, Europe, Asia, North and South America and Antarctica(In the movie, the Continental Drift is caused by a saber-toothed squirrel named Scrat, who tries to get his acorn in all 4 movies, but barely ever succeeds). In the ocean, they find a huge pirate ship led by an orangutan named Captain Gutt, and the crew includes an elephant seal named Flynn,a small rabbit named Squint, and a saber-toothed cat named Shira, with whom Diego later falls in love. Together, Manny, Sid and Diego must defeat the pirates and reunite with Ellie and Peaches. The movie tells us about the importance of true values like family, friendship and love, is against negative characteristics of pursuit of power and betrayal. I really liked the voice cast of the movie, which includes Ray Romano as Manny, Keke Palmer as Peaches, Queen Latifah as Ellie, Peter Dinklage as Captain Gutt, Jennifer Lopez as Shira, Josh Gad as Louis, a molehog who is Peaches’ best friend, and Drake as Ethan, a mammoth who Peaches has a crush on.

The Artist

4 months ago, I went to see the movie The Artist with my grandmother, who had come to visit us from Israel. Even though the movie was silent ( like the old movies before the talkies), I enjoyed it. Some parts were sad, but some parts were also funny. It is about a silent movie actor named George Valentin, who falls in love with a young woman named Peppy Miller. When talking movies begin, George refuses to start making talking movies with his studio, while Peppy, on the other hand, becomes a big star of talkies. George goes on making silent movies by himself, which fail, and leaving him unemployed, miserable, and alcoholic and he even tries to kill himself. At the end, George and Peppy end up starring in a talking movie together. It is a tribute to the first films ever made ( the silent films), and as a movie lover, I enjoyed experiencing the beginning of cinema. It is a movie about love, friendship, believing in yourself and moving on with time/progress.

The Amazing Spider-Man

2 days ago, I went to see the movie The Amazing Spider-Man with my friend and his parents. I really enjoyed the movie and now it is one of my favorites. It is about a teenage orphan named Peter Parker, who lives with his aunt and uncle, gets bit by a spider and gets new powers like web-shooting and wall-climbing. He soon becomes Spider-Man. But when Dr. Curt Connors, a man who used to work with Peter’s father, tries to use lizard DNA to get his arm back, he turns into The Lizard and tries to turn all living human beings into lizards. Now Spider-Man must defeat The Lizard and save New York City. In the end, Spider-Man replaces the lizard DNA cloud with an antidote cloud, which turns The Lizard back into Dr. Curt Connors. I really liked Andrew Garfield’s role as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man and Emma Stone’s role as Gwen Stacy. I would recommend this movie for anyone who likes Marvel movies.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

2 days ago, I rewatched Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. I really enjoyed watching the movie and even though it’s not the best Star Wars movie, I think it’s a very cool movie. It is about 2 Jedi, Obi-Wan and Anakin, who continue to defend the galaxy from the Dark Side as the encounter many enemies on the way. I would recommend this movie for kids and adults. I also really like the action sequences in the movie.
